  • Carling Black Label | Barsports Campaign

    Carling Black Label approached myself and my team at thirtyfour to create a national campaign that leveraged and took ownership of 'bar sports' in South Arica nationwide.

    These sports being pool or billiards, foosball and darts.

    The concept we presented finally was to merge Carling Black Labels onwership of local football or soccer and their sponsorship of the Carling Cup derby between the Kaiser Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and use that as a pedestal to launch bar sports into the consumers mind with massive brand awareness.

    What do Champion Men want when drinking South Africa's Champion Beer? Soccer and pool, foosball and darts all rolled into one.

    The national winners would gain a chance of a lifetime, to rub shoulders with their heroes over a VIP evening of pool, foosball and darts. To mingle, to shoot the breeze and maybe even beat their hero in a game of 'bar sports' giving them bragging rights for life!

    This campaign has just rolled out nationally in South Africa this past Eater period and was a massive success! Carling Black Label now officially owns bar sports in South Africa ! Job done !!

  • Russian Bear | Rush RTD

    Russian Bear Vodka wanted to launch an new alcoholic energy drink into the market catering towards the 18 -24 years target audience. They briefed in that they wanted a street edgy and iconic style. Logo design and development went over a rounds but the result was well worth the time taken. As it always is ! I chose a glass decoration for the bottle design and created a design that would integrate with the energetic liquid behind. As you drink the bottle their are many little cue's using this integration. The result was a clean and simple yet premium look with a 'street' edge feel.

  • Bafana Bafana | Come Show Your Love

    This campaign was a successful pitch for SAFA. South African Football Association. The brief was to create a campaign that will instill "love" back into the South African public for their national team, which is Bafana Bafana.

    People weren't coming to the stadiums anymore so we needed to inject national pride and get stadiums full on game day.

    The concept was to create a slogan that would create mass appeal. "Come Show Your Love" said it all. I created an identity and a look and feel for the campaign. Here are some of the creative direction pieces that followed.

  • Clover | The Big Cheese

    Clover wanted to launch their new product, the Clover Cheddar 800gm cheese to their Retail Market in a new and engaging way. They wanted a trade presenter with a difference, something that will stand out and take names.

    I came up with the concept of naming their new 800gm Clover Cheddar cheese, The Big Cheese, bringing a bit of humour and fun into the FMCG product.

    The packaging was created to draw the link between the actual large sized product and the colloquial name for a 'heavy hitter' in industry, a Big Cheese. So the packaging and design of the brand literature followed suit, using gold foils, pantones and blue canvas substrates to add texture and allure to this new addition to the Clover Cheddar product line.

    Lest to say the product received huge acclaim and their sales went through the roof after the launch.

    This app was for a pitch on Philip Morris International for my previous agency ThirtyFour.
    They needed a Sales App for their Sales staff to use when approaching prospective retailers within Southern Africa.

    The concept i created was to literally have the app emulate that of the Sales Consultants office. You would place a pack of cigarettes with a passkey in it to open the app to bypass security features. From their you were taken through into your "office" where you could access all your information needed to function your day-to-day business and customise it to become a interactive and clutter-breaking sales presentation.

    An invite i did while working at Young & Rubicam Cape Town for their annual event called Press Play, which is a showcase event of the agencies recent award-winning work. This was a a piece of promotional literature given to all their clients at the event. It included an animated showreel inside the two-colour litho press job.
